WWE Superstars 12/9/10

Superstars open, pyro and ballyhoo.  Tonight, Eve vs. Alicia Fox!  That’s a main event?  Seriously?  Jack Korpela and Matt Striker are the first announcers.  Ashley Valence is the ring announcer.

JTG vs. Tyler Reks.  They lock up.  Reks beats the crap out of him.  JTG rallies and lands a dropkick.  He charges Reks in the corner, but Reks catches him and slams him down.  Reks hits a knee drop, then throws JTG’s shoulder into the post.  Cover gets 2.  Reks applies a double arm hook.  JTG escapes and hits the Goldust sliding punch.  Reks drops him with a punch, but misses a knee drop.  JTG makes his comeback, throws some fuzzy dice to the crowd, and hits the Mugshot for 2.  Reks goes for the Snake Eyes or something, but JTG gets a sunset flip for 2.  Reks comes back and hits his modified Burning Hammer for the pin in 3:36.  Fine little TV match.

NXT recap.

Next, Trent Barreta vs. Curt Hawkins!  The rubber match!

WWE.com plug.

Curt Hawkins vs. Trent Barreta.  Hawkins talks shit and shoves Barreta.  Barreta slaps him and drops him with a European uppercut.  Barreta hits an elbow smash for 2.  Barreta hits a knee drop for 2.  Barreta gets a side headlock takeover.  Hawkins turns it into a head scissors.  Barreta escapes and hits another headlock takeover.  Barreta hits a shoulder block and a Frankensteiner for 2.  Barreta hits the headlock takeover again.  It’s a cool move, but you shouldn’t base your match around it.  Hawkins backs Barreta into the corner and pounds him.  Barreta takes a bump over the ropes, face first into the steps.  Insta-commercials.  Hawkins has Barreta in a rear chin lock.  Barreta escapes and hits a dropkick.  Barreta makes his comeback and hits a springboard dropkick for 2.  Hawkins ducks the jumping knee and lands a lariat for 2.  Barreta lands on his feet from a wonky backdrop suplex and hits the jumping knee strike for 2.  Hawkins counters a suplex and suplexes Barreta to the apron.  Barreta back body drops Hawkins to the floor and hits a twisting springboard dive.  Back inside, cover gets 2.  Hawkins avoids Barreta’s fancy DDT.  Barreta counters Hawkins’ move and hits the tornado DDT for the pin (7:08 shown).  Good match.  These guys have been having a really good Superstars-exclusive program lately.

Eve vs. Alicia tonight.  Meh.

Scott Stanford and CM Punk are now the announcers.

Zack Ryder vs. Ezekiel Jackson.  Ryder grabs a headlock.  Zeke throws him off and looks slightly amused.  Zeke grabs a headlock that good make your head pop, then runs over Ryder with a shoulder block.  Ryder hides in the ropes.  He gets in a cheap shot, which only amuses Zeke.  Ryder tries to take Zeke’s knee out.  Ryder manages to land a missile dropkick for 2.  Ryder pounds on Zeke and hits a knee drop for 2.  Ryder clamps on a front face lock.  Zeke sets Ryder on the top rope.  Ryder slugs him, which just pisses Zeke off.  Zeke makes his comeback and hits the Book of Ezekiel for the pin in 2:47.  Awesome.  I love Zeke’s squashes.

Eve vs. Alicia tonight.  I don’t care.  At all.

TLC song!  Na Na Na?  What kind of song is that?

Kofi Kingston hype video.

TLC hype.

Raw Rebound.

The “main event” is next.

Eve Torres vs. Alicia Fox.  They flip around some.  Eve hits some arm drags and applies an arm hold.  Fox fights out, then eats an elbow smash.  Fox ducks a kick and pulls Eve down by her hair.  Fox works the hair.  I fucking hate that shit so much.  Cover gets 2.  Fox applies a rear chin lock.  Eve fights out and applies a sleeper hold.  Fox makes it to the ropes.  Eve won’t break.  Fox backs her into the corner, but fails to break.  Fox finally manages to turn it into a backbreaker.  Cover for 2.  Why wasn’t Eve DQ’d for not breaking the hold?  Fox lands some knees.  Eve makes her comeback and tries to set up the moonsault.  Fox grabs her foot, then hits a Northern Lights suplex hold for 2.  Eve counters a suplex into a neckbreaker, then hits a moonsault press for the pin in 4:57.  Not bad, and I approve of any match that ends via moonsault.

Good show this week.
