WWE Superstars 10/21/10

WWE open, Superstars open, pyro and ballyhoo.  Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler are the first announcers.  Tonight, MVP & Chris Masters take on Cody Rhodes & Drew McIntyre.  Justin Roberts is the first ring announcer.

Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov vs. Jimmy & Jey Uso (w/ Tamina).  Kozlov takes down one of the Usos and works a side headlock, then knocks him down with a shoulder block.  Santino tags in, gets his shoulder her, and tags out.  Kozlov wins a shoving match with the Uso.  The other Uso tags in and gets taken down.  Santino and Kozlov take turns working over the Uso.  The Uso manages to chop block Kozlov’s leg and tries a cross body, but Kozlov headbutts him out of the ring.  The Usos get the heat on Kozlov.  Commercials.  The Usos are still getting the heat on Kozlov 5 minutes later.  Santino gets the hot tag and… gets cut off immediately.  He rallies and runs… not wild, but a little loopy.  Jimmy (I think) accidentally kicks Jey (I think) out of the ring.  Santino hits Jimmy (I think) with the Cobra for the pin in 12:00.  Way too long and uninteresting.

Tonight, MVP & Masters vs. Rhodes & McIntyre!  Commercials.

WWE.com plug.

William Regal vs. Darren Young.  They lock up.  Regal grabs a side headlock and scores a shoulder block for 2.  They chain wrestle.  That’s always awesome.  Lawler calls Cole out on being an idiot and saying “pound & ground.”  Young hits a slam for 2.  Young hits a sloppy clothesline, then takes Regal over with a side headlock.  Regal rolls it over in that spot that I love.  Regal sends Young into the turnbuckle, then hits him with an enzui lariat.  Regal hits a knee drop for 2.  Regal nails Young with a European uppercut, then boot scrapes his face in the corner.  Regal is so awesome at mauling fuckers.  He locks Young in a side headlock.  They trade forearms.  Young hits a back body drop.  Regal side steps a shoulder block and goes for an Exploder.  Young blocks it and goes for his shitty finish.  Regal blocks it and hits a weak knee trembler for the pin in 4:36.  Pretty decent, but nowhere near the really good match they had 2 weeks ago.

Tonight, MVP & Masters vs. Rhodes & McIntyre!  Commercials.

WWE bullshit fact of the night.

Todd Grisham and Matt Striker are now the announcers.  Tony Chimel is now the ring announcer.

The Nexus (Barrett, Gabriel, Slater, and Otunga) come out.  Barrett cuts a promo about the WWE Championship he hopes to win on Sunday.  They show clips of the Nexus/John Cena angle.

The main event is NEXT!  Commercials.

Non-Title: WWE Tag Team Champions “Dashing” Cody Rhodes & Drew McIntyre vs. Montel Vontavious Porter & Chris Masters.  MVP has new music.  It sucks.  Masters and Rhodes lock up.  Rhodes flinches to avoid getting punched in the face.  Masters hits him in the back, then gives him a back body drop for 2.  MVP and McIntyre tag in and lock up.  McIntyre tries to work the arm.  MVP takes him over and kicks him in the back for 2.  MVP hits a running knee to the back of the head for 2.  Masters tags in.  McIntyre takes his leg out and tags in Rhodes.  The tag champs get the heat on Masters.  Masters clotheslines Rhodes out of the ring, where he knocks over McIntyre.  Commercials.  5 minutes later, Masters is back to playing face in peril.  Rhodes and McIntyre work his leg.  Masters hits McIntyre with a Samoan drop.  MVP and Rhodes tag in.  MVP hits Rolling Germans.  MVP hits clotheslines and the knee face busters, then the Ballin’ elbow.  MVP gowes for the Playmaker, but McIntyre prevents it.  Masters locks McIntyre in the Master Lock, then locks it on Rhodes.  McIntyre sends MVP outside.  MVP disposes of McIntyre.  Rhodes pokes MVP in the eyes and hits the Cross Rhodes for the pin in 12:25.  Okay match.

Okay show.  Just okay.
